Russell and Krista Lea
We are dedicated to the care of the horses entrusted to us and the land God has blessed us with.
Russell Lea was born in Shelby county, Kentucky and raised on a 50 acre farm with tobacco, beef cows, hay, and horses. He won the State 4H Horse Show in Barrel Racing and still shows today.
Krista Lea is from Amarillo Texas, and grew up riding quarter horses. She moved to Kentucky in 2007 for the Kentucky Equine Management Internship and holds a BS in Animal Science and an MS in Plant and Soil Sciences from the University of Kentucky.
We both grew up with a love of horses and a dream of owning a horse farm. Today, that dream has come true!
Our farm is named after this mare, Truly Texata, who is the reason we are together. I wanted to take her to a horse show and Russell offered to bring a trailer. We’ve been together ever since, and joke that everything we have today is her fault. Here, Texas is celebrating her retirement from reining.
